Nescafe Azera

Seeing my doodles on shelves has been an amazing(ly strange) experience but one I want agan and again. Having designed for such an iconic brand, selling over half a million tins online and in coffee aisles across the UK and Ireland, it reaffirmed the joy of illustration for me. Taking once simple packaging and jazzing it up with eye-catching design that makes more people reach for it.

Whatever they're for, I love a bright colourful cartoon that can spark joy and imagination in kids of all ages (and the adults that never grew up.)
Drawing characters, animals, and world building can be used for informative work, packaging, branding, and everything else, and it's one of my favourite styles to doodle.

Bringing colour to Edinburgh's
grey & brown landscape

Illustrating my hometown of Edinburgh; its cafes, landmarks, shops, and iconic spots; with a splash of colour.

I currently have a few books in the works. Bringing the words of three talented writers to life. I love stories which have a message, that stir the imagination for all ages, and, of course, designs with plenty of colour!

Since I started at Apex Hotels, there has been more illustration within the marketing...Coincidence?
From menu designs, website assets, to bringing the iconic Apex ducks to life, the creatives have broadened and diversified the brand's design.
With 11 properties around the UK, all with their own brand requirements, illustrating for Apex Hotels brings plenty of variety to my to do lists.

hold the colour

In the occasion I'm to leave the colour to another, or simplicity is required, I can put the colour on hold. I love creating colouring in activities and seeing kids add their own creativity to my work. I also love the detail I can put into line work in the absence of colour.

Works in progress, line work or colour?

She is an icon, she's all about sustainability, and she's the first calf to be born through IVF.  Hilda is part of the Cool Cows project, which aims to establish a nucleus of highly methane-efficient animals. Such an important cow deserves her own artwork, so when the SRUC asked me to design an activity sheet for children at the Royal Highland Show, I got a mooove on with sketching!

When I was younger, I never stopped drawing, and that’s not changed nearly 30 years on. It al began with my extremely critically reviewed crayon smiley face exhibite on my parents' wall. Since then I'm banned from using crayons.
I am a self-taught illustrator with a decade of professional creative experience.

I’ve got a degree in history with 3 years of Film and Media under my belt. So I love a good story.

When the pandemic hit and I lost my social media job, I spent my last pennies on an iPad and it has never left my side since. That was when I transitioned to digital illustration. I’ve been evolving my art with daily practice, sourcing tutorials and inspiration often, and now feel I have a style that is recognisably mine.

never not doodling....

Combining my day job in marketing with my illustration experience offers diversity within design mediums.

Having worked in marketing for the past decade, I have tried to introduce illustration into my work as much as possible. Notably, for Apex Hotels (including their restaurants, bars, and spas), Hit the Road’s 2023 tour, the Royal Highland Show, the Gin71 brand , Taymouth Marina, and even a colouring in book community project for Watermans Solicitors. (Bringing creativity to a law agency was particularly challenging, but if I can create creative content there, I believe I could do it anywhere!)

As a freelancer, I have illustrated for weddings, designed brand identities and merchandice, have collaborated with several talented creatives, and have been published in several publications.

recently...

Recently I have been taking part in the 2025 InkyGoodness Illustration course, workig with industry professionals on a variety of live briefs, attending workshops and seminars. It has been great for my portfolio, escaping creative blocks, and I'm always keen to pick up new tips and tricks.
Since the success of my Nescafe Azera design, I'm looking for more projects that take me back to the shelves across the UK. I'm also in the process of illustrating three childrens books, which we hope to publish once we're finished!

I'm just a girl, standing in front of an industry, asking them to hire, inspire, and represent me. If you can do any of the three, please get in touch! I'm always keen for a new project to get stuck into.
